Andrea Clinton is a screenplay writer, playwright, author, producer, director and showrunner. She’s also a contributing Journalist and Editor in Chief of AMISTAD online newspaper.
In 2018 Andrea began filming H.I.T.S., a series on human trafficking in the urban community. In 2017 Andrea produced a showcase of 8 short plays, Plain Jane, The Wife and other plays. In 2016, Andrea was commissioned by Luna Stage to write a historical One Act play on the adverse affects of Route 280 on residents in the city of Orange, NJ, which resulted in a staged reading, Devil in Rte 280. Andrea also won a space in Atlanta Black Theatre Festival in 2015 and again in 2016. Likewise, she won the 2015 and 2016 UCACT Grant, granted by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders, to Produce and Direct, where she chose the Tony Award winning play, God of Carnage, by Yasmina Reza in 2016 and her first Two Act play MURPHY’S LAW: Group Therapy Gone Wild in 2015.
Andrea follows with, The Parcel Man and It’s a Family Affair plays she wrote in 2015 and 2016; “Cassidy,” a web series that chronicles the comedic goings on of a woman over 40; a few art cinema short films and more short plays, followed by her book, Where Do we Go From Here 2019.
Andrea is a Montclair State University Graduate, where she achieved an MA in Theatre Studies and undergraduate degrees in: English, Film and Journalism.
She’s the founder and CEO of the non-profit organization, People Helping People, Inc., whose mission is to help citizens become independent and self-sufficient. She also founded People Helping People, Arts & Entertainment. Presently, Andrea is finishing a Clinton family biography and screenplay featuring her uncle, Rock and Roll Hall of fame’s, George Clinton of Parliament/Funkadelic and the Clinton family and pitching several TV shows to include sitcoms, drama and 2 reality shows.
Andreas’s first novel, One Who Loves You More, is the first book in her, Life Knows No Bounds series. She began this chronicle to exhibit the many directions life leads us in, regardless of which class we belong to. Andrea also wrote A Blessing and a Curse, Love at First Plight, and Red Dollar.
Through her works, Andrea’s goal is to express to the world that, “Life isn’t out to get you in particular, it just doesn’t know boundaries.”
